Brazil has reached a historic milestone in global agribusiness. In 2025, the country consolidated its position as the world’s largest beef exporter and surpassed the United States in production, reflecting decades of technological advancement, market expansion, and productive efficiency in the livestock sector.
According to industry data, Brazil exported 3.09 million tons of beef in 2025, a 21.4% increase compared to the previous year, generating approximately US$ 16.6 billion in revenue.
This record performance reinforces the country’s role as one of the main pillars of global food security.
Brazil’s performance has been driven primarily by strong demand from international markets.
China remains the main destination for Brazilian beef, accounting for nearly half of the sector’s exports.
At the same time, new markets have been gaining importance, reflecting a strategy of trade diversification that strengthens Brazil’s presence in the global food market.
With approximately 20% of all beef produced worldwide, Brazil holds a strategic position to meet the growing global demand for animal protein.
The expansion of production, combined with advances in genetics, management, and technology, has enabled consistent gains in productivity — a key factor for livestock systems in the tropics.
In this context, Brazilian livestock production is consolidating not only as a driver of the national economy, but also as a central element in ensuring food supply for a growing global population.
